Solorio had an awesome career day! Their theme was transportation, and workers from different careers brought their vehicles to share. They had vehicles from UPS, fire, police, Edison, and even a welding truck. Mr. Gordon, ESD board member, stopped by to participate in the fun.
Today is National Child Care Provider Appreciation Day! Child care providers work hard every day to keep our children safe and healthy and foster their learning. Take a moment to thank your child care provider!

Attention all fifth grade Solorio Tigers! Join us Wednesday, May 10th at Heritage Intermediate School to learn all the ins and outs of middle school life. The fun is not just for the students. Starting at 6pm, we will also have parent night so the whole family can be involved. We ensure the warmest of welcomes as you leave our tiger den and go on to the next chapter in your stories!
Ms. Yerkish, librarian extraordinaire at Solorio Elementary, experienced an act of kindness from her Solorio family when her father fell ill. She often thinks about that and is so grateful she is able to pay the kindness forward.
We are so proud of Jup Singh, an eighth-grade student from Heritage Intermediate, who will represent Etiwanda School District and San Bernardino County at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May. Congratulations Jup!

The 15th Battle of the Books was fantastic! Our Etiwanda Library Team, students, families, and all of the volunteers made Saturday's event a huge success. Congratulations to not just the winning teams but to all the students who worked so hard preparing for this event by reading all of the required books.
Ms. Yerkish, the absolutely amazing librarian at Solorio Elementary, was at it again! To honor March being Women's History Month, she dressed up as Mary Anning and read "Dinosaur Lady" to her students. Mary Anning was one of the first women paleontologists and fossil collectors.
Please join us in wishing good luck to all Etiwanda students competing in this year's Battle of the Books! They have worked so hard leading up to this event, and we are certain they will have a great time competing tomorrow.
