Mrs. Kandice Frazier

Hello Solorio Families! My name is Kandice Frazier. I currently reside in Ontario, California with my husband, fourth-grade son, and third-grade daughter. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2014 from Grambling State University. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I soon realized that I needed and wanted to gain more knowledge in the field of education. I also found a deep interest in creating a curriculum. I received my Master's in Education from Grand Canyon University in 2022. Prior to 2022, I worked in childcare for several years. Outside of work, I enjoy many activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, interior design, sporting events, hiking, movies, and spending time with my family. Teaching has been my goal since childhood, and I am excited to begin my journey in your class as a Solorio Tiger.

Battle of The Books!

B.O.B

The Battle of the Books (BOB) is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3rd-5th. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good literature from different genres plus the practice of good sportsmanship, the development of leadership skills, and just plain FUN.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

They read!!! All BOB students must read and pass the AR test on a minimum of 15 titles out of the 30 on the list. We have three BOB goals throughout the year each student must meet in order to continue in BOB. After your student reads a book from the list they will take a test in Renaissance Place just like they regularly do (AR points for BOB books count towards their BOB goal AND their AR goal). Tests must be taken within this school year and passed with at least a 60% score. Students may read any AR level on the list ~ teachers are aware that they may be reading outside of their level.

HOW DO WE SIGN UP?

Students and their guardians will fill out a new BOB contract every year in August. The contract is online and a link will be posted in the Solorio Library Google Classroom (class code iraf5gx ). Students must be logged in to their ESD issued Google account to access the contract.
